Hyde Park - Sydney

Hyde Park is Sydney central park and a great spot to get away from the noise of the city. The tranquil surroundings are popular among office workers and tourists alike.

The Park was originally a racecourse and sportint ground. In 1931 the War Memorial was constructed in the centre of the park and stands 30 metres high over the pool of rememberance. There is also an exhibit on the ground floor of the memorial. A central figtree lined main path leads to the Archibald fountain.

Admission to the park is free and the closest train stations are either St James or Museum station.
